This 255gr Hard Cast load is what our Ol' Buddy Elmer Keith was most likely after in our Smith M24 .44Specials with barrels from 3" to 5" performance wise. Shooting this load in my 3" Barreled M24-3 Lew Horton Special S&W is a "Woodsman's Dream" in the Southeastern USA. Especially Thru this particular Revolver performance/recoil wise as the fps average of 1055 FPS that produces well over 600ft-lbs of Muzzle Energy all the while being very controllable from the first-shot to cylinder dump into any 2 or 4 legged problem down here. These Hard Cast "Keith's" HIT-SO-HARD anything 60 yards and closer from even our 3" barreled M24-3 LHS and pile drive into such with authority.

Any Black Bear, "Sasquatch", HaHaHa, or a starved and hungry for love "Deliverance Character" would be seriously Ruined to take a center mass pop from this gun/round as these Pills penetrate Deep.

We quickly learned at our bi-annual "Farm-Shoot" to shoot at our AR-500 Steel Silhouette Plates for practice/competition at a "Minimum" of 40 yards distance because these pills hit so hard they started to "Crater" the surface faces of this very hardened steel made, water jet cut, 1/2" thick, & quite expensive silhouette plates.

That is testament in of itself of the damage that this heavy for caliber, warm and juicy loaded, wide bullet's "Meplate" diameter, and just how hard these "Keith-Style" constructed Pills will plow into whatever needs to be, "Made-Good" just as Uncle "Keith" was after.

I also can attest as to the performance to Buffalo Bore's "Big-Brother" load to the 44Special which is the 44Magnum in our 3" barreled M629-3 Smith Performance Center Mountain Back Packer with BB's 255gr Hard Cast "Keith" loads that are just as accurate but hit even harder, are even more devastating on Pelt, Sinew, and Bone in the lovely BB .44Mag loads in direct comparison to these .44Special loads I speak of in every way. We walk tall with either of these Buffalo Bore loads in M24 or M629 chambered .44's no matter how deep we venture into the mountainous North Carolina "Nantahala National Forrest". Of where we hike, kayak, fish, and 4x4-Offroad our Jeeps too. Best loads in both caliber's I've ever known, trusted, and used I can swear/attest to!

I fired this load out of my Smith and Wesson M396 Night Guard .44 special (24 oz, 2.5 inch, scandium, snub nose) and I was very impressed with the power and with controlability. I calculated that I am getting around 529 ft-lbs and about 965 ft/sec. The Keith bullet makes a large hole and gives one confidence when backpacking or hiking in bear/cougar/mt lion/coyote/--country. It is like a "baby" 44 magnum.

Just a small thank you for the Buffalo Bore 255 grain  44 special.  I am sure Elmer Keith would agree, this load is perfect for the Smith and Wesson Model 329.  I carry this for personal defense.

A couple of weeks ago while calling Elk here in Washington State, this 200 lb bear came to the call and was 20 feet from me, She gave the stare and I felt I needed to protect myself and others with me. I placed your load behind the front shoulder. The bear ran about 30 yards and died.  Wow! The entrance and exit wound were the same.  What power.  I am convinced you have a great load.

Thank you,

Scott Cummings
