45 Super is externally/dimensionally identical to 45 ACP or 45ACP +P and is designed to be used in 45ACP semi-auto pistols that have been fitted with stronger than normal recoil springs and a shock buffer, plus a couple other modifications. While you can shoot 45 SUPER out of some stock 45ACP +P pistols such as the Glock 21, HK USP, or the full-sized all steel 1911, you will batter your pistol if you do not have them modified to handle the extra pressure and slide velocity of the 45 Super.

The below velocities were fired from my Colt Gold Cup Govt. Model (5-inch) that was converted by Garey.

All our 45 Super ammunition is loaded with flash suppressed powders so that if you have to fire in low light (when the criminal element is out) you will not be blinded by your own gunfire at the worst possible moment.
All three of the JHP loads were designed for anti-personnel use and for hunting small big game-like deer. The two solid bullet loads were designed for breaking large bones like a bear's shoulders or skull but will work for anti-personnel use as well if you need to shoot through cover like car doors or stick frame walls.

I have used all these loadings for the 45Super. Might just have to upgrade more pistols to be able to use them. Mostly word off, or harvest the bear and mountain lions who like to eat all the Deer, and eat bird dogs as well my rare neighbor's cats. Both my Glock 21SF and my Springfield V16, long side, love these loads. Thus far, twice, one shot, through and through, boiler room kills on black Bear and deer. at just 45-55yrds.
On paper, they all shoot like advertised: 2%u201D or less at 25%u2019. Also still fire my 230gr. Hardball target loads. Sad that more folks don't understand how great the 45Super is. But especially in N frame S&W 25s. And Ruger, Blackhawk NM 45ACP, 45LC,
The BB, 45Auto Rim Outdoorsman the, 255gr. SWC. is not far off. Outdoor loads are keen for most practical uses in revolvers. No moon clips to get loaded or unloaded; Quicker to reload as well with speed loaders. I just need to know about use in my Thunder Ranch scandium revolver. I use the Auto Rim and 45ACP Outdoorsman. To be able to get the ex 100-200 fps. Out of the 45 Super, would also be a plus.

I used these out of a Glock G21SF that was modified specifically for use of the .45 Super cartridges. Accuracy was very good. Groups were right at 1" at 25 yards and 1.25" at 40 yards. I chronographed these loads and the extreme spread numbers were single digit. I carried them in my gun during deer season and killed two whitetail deer with them. Performance was very similar to what I get with my .44 magnum revolvers using 240 grain JHPs. I don't know how they could be better. Good job.

Just got back from the Range after using this .45 super 230 grain ammo. It was totally controllable with Not much more recoil than the PMC .45 230 grain ball ammo I usually use. It was a joy shooting and takes your regular 45 ACP gun to a totally new level. I was shooting my Springfield Armory 45 with some modifications. I replaced the Main Recoil Spring with a Wollf 24 lb spring, as well as replacing the Hammer Spring with a Wollf 28 lb spring and replaced the Firing Pin Stop with a Square Stop from EGW. I would NOT recommend JUST replacing your Main Recoil Spring to a stiffer one. Over time the gun cannot handle it and it WILL crack the frame down the line as well as having one hell of a sharp recoil. SO, if you are going to Shoot this Ammo. Replace the Main Recoil Spring, the Hammer Spring and go to a Square Firing Pin Stop. You do these THREE modifications with a FULL steal gun and you will REALLY enjoy shooting this ammo, as well as it being totally controllable and the recoil will be totally manageable. By the way, after these modifications. It still shoots my PMC 230 grain hard ball ammo!!!

The advantage of having a modern 45 ACP revolver is the ability to shoot 45 Super in it without modification. I shot these in my Taurus 45 ACP revolver and absolutely love them. They kick a bit more than 45 ACP, but its more of a hard push and I don't seem to get a lot of muzzle flip (maybe the porting on the Taurus actually does help). After shooting these I have switched my HD ammo from 45 ACP to 45 Super.

wow is all I can say got a box of these took them to the range with my new 45 super and everyone thought I was shooting a cannon. very accurate. If your a bad shot the noise might give them a heart attack. LOL
