150 gr. BARNES TTSX @ 2,900 fps
20 Round Box

Item 39B

PRESS RELEASE FOR BUFFALO-BARNES 308 WIN. SUPERCHARGED 150gr. TTSX

This Super Charged 308 Win. load is designed to kill any big game from Antelope through AK/Yukon moose or bison. The 150gr. Barnes TTSX bullet expands and then penetrates as deeply as most 200gr. premium partition style bullets, while giving the high velocity, flat trajectory and low recoil of the much lighter 150gr. bullet. For folks who are hunting any big game in North America, this is the “do all” 308 Win. load. We make a 308 Win. load that is better suited for small big game like deer and antelope, (see item 39A) but there is no 308 Win. load in the world that is better suited for all NA game and especially very large game like AK/Yukon moose or bison, than this (Item 39B) load.

Note our real world velocity, shot from a real world rifle. We do not use extra long laboratory test barrels that give false high-velocity readings.

➤  2,825 fps - Kimber 84 Montana, 22-inch barrel

This ammunition is designed for use in ALL 308 Win. chambered rifles that are in normal operating condition.

I hunt in the Rockies in Montana, on property with lots of Grizzlies. So I wanted to get some of the hottest .308 ammo I could find. This fit the bill.

This year, I took a five-point bull elk with a single shot. It was a bad angle, rear quartering on a downward slope. The bullet went through the side of the bull, took out a lung, and punched through his neck. He dropped in his tracks and never moved again.

To say that I'm impressed is an understatement. These are the real deal. I won't be hunting with any other rounds for the foreseeable future. They're accurate, hit like a hammer, and I trust my life to them.

p.s. Rifle was a Tikka with a 22.4'' barrel.

I bought these at the beginning of the pandemic when I could not find any other ammo for my Winchester model 70 Featherweight. Last weekend was my first opportunity to use them. And my first use of all copper bullets. Ive always used Remington corelokt type bullets on deer. I had a 150 pound wild hog come in to 60 yards. I hit him through the shoulders. He dropped and never got up. Anyone who has hunted hogs knows how tough they are. I didnt get a pass through but the terminal damage was insane! That tough bullet penetrated to the oposite shoulder but I only found 2 petals that broke off the bullet.(A good thing is it still penetrated as needed. I do not blame the bullet and I dont see that as a failure. I hit the shoulder directly. A soft point would not have penetrated enough on that pig) Tough pig and tough bullet. Needless to say I was impressed. The next morning I took a 75 pound doe at 25 yards. The bullet expanded and passed through. Again impressed. A bullet tough enough to down that pig yet still expands on softer targets is awesome to me! I will be stocking up on this round for sure. It is accurate and effective.

Excellent round. Have used this to harvest a deer and black bear. Very effective. as advertised. highly recommended.

I chronographed this load 2700 FPS out of my Ruger Scout rifle with a 16-inch barrel. Accuracy is a cloverleaf at 100 yards. This whitetail was harvested at 50 yards and dropped in his tracks. The bullet had complete pass through.

Just sighted my childhood 308 in with these. I'm using a Model 70 with a 21" barrel. Not sure my actual velocities. I sighted at 100 like I did with the old Federal Barnes. I ended up getting a double tap in the process. I then moved to 200 for giggle. Based on my old Federals and standard 308 ammo I held 3-4 inches high. Pow! I hit right where I was aiming! So from 1-200 I can hold dead on! As far as Barnes I won't shoot any other bullet for big game. Several deer over the years even with my 22-250. No point in handloading when Buffalo Bore does such a good job! These should be perfect for elk this fall!

Shot a 200 lb bore with the buffalo bore blue tip out of my Howa 1500 from 350 yards in right behind the ear. If you are like me and make long shots these rounds will amaze you. They are the only rounds I will use when I have a 200 yard shot. They are expensive but when you spend so much time preparing and scouting for a hunt ammunition is not something you want to be cheap on.
I regularly shoot quarter size groups at 200 yards.
I guess its due to the hot load and the superb tipped bullet. The bullet tends to penetrate deep into thick bone and hold its shape unlike some tipped bullets that fragment and fail to penetrate through a hogs thick skin and bone. Especially at long ranges when the bullet starts slowing down.
